The Design Brief called for the transformation of an existing 2-storey neo-classical mansion into a French Chateau.
To achieve this, the existing façade was redesigned to introduce a series of slender, full-height french windows and the existing hip roof was replaced with a new mansard roof dressed in titanium zinc shingles. The landscaping for the perimeter hedges also took on a more structured form, in tune with the propriety that typically accompanies the ceremonious architecture of a Chateau.
All the interiors were adorned in half-height timber paneling with classical mouldings, with the exception of the new Home Office located in the Attic which featured a modern, minimalist aesthetic.
The project was aborted after tender.
